For Grade 3 Mathematics
Students will be able to read, write, and identify numbers up to 100. This lesson focuses on understanding the structure of two-digit numbers, their place values, and how to represent them.
In this lesson, we will learn how to read and write numbers from 1 to 100. It's important to know both the numeral (e.g., 25) and the number name (e.g., twenty-five).
Examples:
Practice saying and writing numbers as you see them.
Every digit in a number has a place value. For two-digit numbers, we have the 'Tens' place and the 'Ones' place. The digit in the tens place tells us how many groups of ten there are, and the digit in the ones place tells us how many single units there are.
Example: Number 34
In the number 34:
The expanded form of a number shows the value of each digit. We write the number as the sum of its place values.
Examples:
Convert the given number to words or words to number.
Identify the place value or write the expanded form.
